I’ve been trying to rescue my personal website without doing a complete redesign. I’d rather work on customer problems or new AI products versus PMM myself, but it’s time for a refresh. First, I’ve added a daily log (for learning purposes), experimented with audio recording + transcription, and designed new features/products without using Figma. It’s been fun? yes!
For new or larger projects, I’m defaulting to using voice instead of typing, especially in plan mode. Wispr and recording audio straight (or importing) to Apple Notes have been the best methods for quick, free transcription.
Recording voice or doing long Wispr sessions isn’t feasible from cafés or while working in public, so the type of work that gets done in those spaces is forever changed. Not something i’ve fully come to terms with, yet.
Another challenge: not spinning up a new service (workers) for every problem. They’re great for learning, but a distraction and pile technical debt. I’m implementing a 24-hour wait before creating any new mini-service.
One new tool I installed this week that’s been super helpful is ImageOptim for compressing images. Also installed Ghostty, a fun CLI.
